At last, back to her original brilliance

Yay! I'd begun to think this author had lost her spark. Probably the last 4+ books I read of hers were just ok, simple stories with 2-dimensional characters. But with this story, she's back to her original brilliance. This story starts with Leo. He's divorcing his wife of 12 years, Eva, because he wants to live his truth as a gay man. They have a lovely girl from their union that Leo is determined to protect and nurture through the storm. Eva is fighting the divorce, trying to hold on to the man she still loves. Leo meets Jesse and discovers the world of BDSM. Suddenly everything clicks....his dominant personality finally finds a name for what he is, a Dom. He finds the love of his life in Jesse. His daughter is thriving and his wife is starting to come around to their new reality. So, of course, just when he feels hope that he's finding his feet, life happens and his world is thrown back into chaos. And just like in life, Leo, Jesse, Eva and even their little girl find themselves changing and adapting in ways they never could have imagined. I loved this story because it felt so real and because this strange little family could get beyond preconceived notions of how people should be and find love, acceptance and compassion for one another. A great story, one worth reading again.

Fantastic romance

This is a fantastic M/M romance with a wonderful storyline and lots of loneliness! Jesse and Leo are a couple of men who just want someone to love. Jesse wants a Dominant master who will love him and let him take care of him. Leo finally decided he couldn't live a life, he is gay. In the process of divorcing his wife without upsetting his young daughter, he finds himself attracted to the very submissive Jesse. Romance, drama, humor and a whole lot of kinky sex, this book is amazing!

I like the stories in this series

This excellent story continues the saga of this community. The story line moves along at a good pace and holds your interest to the very end and I am now waiting for the next installment. It is also wonderful to see how the older characters are making their lives successful. I enjoy reading these stories and enthusiastically recommend them to persons who enjoy this genre.

Well, you get what you pay for. This ...

Well, you get what you pay for. This book was translated from some other language to english, and there were a lot of typos. Also, the author assumed the reader knew how to do many functions that I wouldn't consider "beginner". They also did not explain very well the whys of the steps being taken.

I'd skip this book and pick up something a little more in-depth. I let a co-worker try it out and he was lost after the first 5 pages.

Poorly written.

Very poorly written. Many steps are skipped. Simple things like selected the feature to be acted upon are not included. If you like trial and error to figure out a program, this is the book for you. If you want to learn how to use Solidworks, then look elsewhere.

The diagrams are small, the verbiage is often cumbersome, like it was written by a non-Native English speaker. It doesn't follow a logical sequence to help get you up to speed on Solid Works...

A former middle school science teacher, she has been involved in school-university partnership work for more than fifteen years. Examining classroom discourse is a fundamental aspect of Professor Zembal-Saul’s work and she employs video analysis as both a research tool and a pedagogical approach for working with teachers. She has published her research findings in numerous book chapters and articles in peer-reviewed journals, and she is active in professional organizations, including the National Association for Research in Science Teaching and the National Science Teachers Association. Carla Zembal-Saul earned her doctorate at the University of Michigan.

Kimber Hershberger is currently a third grade teacher in the State College Area School District (SCASD) in Pennsylvania. She also serves as co-instructor for the science methods course and a mentor teacher for the Penn State — SCASD Professional Development School Partnership. Her involvement in a local professional learning community that focuses on incorporating content storyline and the CER framework in science teaching has been a highlight of her work. She holds degrees from Juniata College (B.S., elementary education) and Penn State University (M.Ed., science education). In addition to presenting numerous times at the annual conference of the National Science Teachers Association, she has co-authored several articles for NSTA journals, including Science and Children and Science Scope.

About the Author

Katherine L. McNeill is an Assistant Professor of science education at Boston College. A former middle school science teacher, she received her doctorate in science education from the University of Michigan. Her research focuses on how to support students with diverse backgrounds in engaging in scientific explanation and argumentation in both talk and writing. Her research has been generously funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and from this work, she has published a book on supporting middle school students, numerous book chapters, and articles in a variety of journals including the Journal of Research in Science Teaching, Science Education, The Journal of the Learning Sciences, and the International Journal of Science Education. In 2011, Professor McNeill received the Early Career Research Award from NARST. She has also conducted numerous workshops at the annual meeting of the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) and for school districts including the Detroit Public Schools and the Boston Public Schools.

Excellent Resource for the Next Generation Science Standards

This is an excellent resource for the science practice of "engaging in argument with evidence" that is outlined in the Next Generation Science Standards. This book comes with a DVD of classroom video to show you how you implement the Claims-Evidence-Reasoning framework in your classroom. The many example lessons and unit explain how to plan lessons, supporting students in how to talk and write in a scientific manner, integrating science with other subjects like English-Language Arts and how to design assessment tasks and constructing rubrics.

I recommend this book for elementary teachers who want their students to think critically and want to go beyond predictions and collecting data. This thoroughly addresses the new Next Generation Science Standards and how to build a positive and powerful learning environment in the classroom.

This is also a nice resource for instructors of elementary science methods who work with preservice teachers. I use it with my students and they learn a lot when they teach their science lessons in a local school. This gets at the reasons for planning engaging science lessons and how to have success in the classroom. I am very pleased with the success that my students are having.

This is a classic. If you have some basics and like jazz, I've found the articulation markings very helpful. There is an intermediate and advanced edition as well as a duet edition. You can also get them with a CD. I love to play these exercises and songs!

Fun, Awesome Book!

I just bought this book for my son, and he loves it! The book includes a cool little hacky sack, which was perfect for him because he's a first-time hacky-sacker. He learned all sorts of tricks and techniques, which he is always thrilled to showcase for his friends (who are very impressed!). Several of his friends are experienced hacky-sackers, and they, too, learned tons of new tricks from this great little book!

The illustrations are great, too! Overall, this is an awesome little book. I definitely recommend it to all!
