I am famous for reading articles, books and theses and giving feedback very quickly. I often say that it will only take me 10 minutes so please send it to me and I will send you comments. After reading Linnenluecke, M. K., & Griffiths, A. (2015) however I wrote up the following quote for the Authors to use:
"Not a book you can read in 10 minutes or over a weekend, it is a book you want to savour, put on your shelf and reach for anytime you want to a rich background of the history, science and initiatives surrounding earth processes and optimal organisational responses to climate change and extreme weather events”
I have found the book to be a treasure trove of exciting research ideas. I have helped set up an Environmental Accounting and Finance research group at the University of Queensland and the group is currently working on over a dozen research projects, all of which were inspired by this book. As it says in the quote above, I am constantly taking the book from the shelf to help with these research projects.
The book is extremely readable but deep in its content. It’s the sort of book that makes you want to go and read the references cited, to read up on adaptation and resilience and inspires further research ideas especially across the discipline silos, from Strategy and Management to Accounting and Finance
