Highly suspenseful and thrilling, 9•2•5 resonates as an at times psychotic tale of revenge. Gregory Belittled breaks from his nine-to-five life by making a fortune coming up with an anti-skimming mechanism for the Bank of Las Vegas and uses it to buy everything he needs to take his father down.

About the Author
milius is a Fencing Master, a Master of Science in Computer Science, with a special interest in AI & Consciousness, and he learned to write with the help of a screenplay consultant. milius has the basic mindset of a Creative Director. He was born in 1980 in The Hague, The Netherlands and now lives in Enschede. A brief history in his own words: "I remember wanting to write, when my parents broke out the typewriter even before I was seven. It was an Olympia. We were only allowed to use it on special occasions, but this problem was solved when I actually turned seven and we got a computer: a 286 AT 10MHz, with MiniWord! It was one of the fastest PCs you could buy with two huge portable hard drives, 30 MBs each, so plenty of room for my writing. When I was a bit older I bought my own computer with WordPerfect 5.1, which was by then outdated, but to me an upgrade from what we had before. "My first two books I still remember. I started on them before I was fourteen. First I started on a Batman novel. I spent twenty pages describing the bat cave, realized I couldn't come up with a better antagonist than the Joker, and gave up. Then I started on a book that had all the cool scenes out of Karl May novels to it, but realized I didn't have a through line, and gave up again. Only when I was twenty-five, I sort of got an inkling of a structure for a full length story and wrote a screenplay called Living Harry. It was absolute ****, and I rewrote it to a screenplay called Rooster, if I'm not mistaken, thirteen times, with the help of a script consultant, together with another screenplay called The Conglomerate. "I wrote my first novel, after having written many screenplays, because the screenplay form didn't allow me to do creatively what I wanted to do with the writing. This became 925, which I wrote using the pen name of milius. I chose this pen name, because I made the mistake of self-publishing a previous rewrite of what was to become Rooster out of desperation. I'm still hanging in there and I haven't really made it, but I can do a couple of things. I know how to write. I have a good sense of rhythm through fencing a lot. I know a bit about music. And I'm also a MSc in Computer Science, which you sometimes see in my stories, through AI & Consciousness or the things my characters do."

`He always occupied himself at the library, trying to figure out ways of catching serial killers.'
By Grady Harp
Finding biographical data on an author is usually helpful in connecting with a new style by a new author who seeming is making his debut. But despite searches n all possible places we only have the following: `milius is a Fencing Master, a Master of Science in Computer Science, with a special interest in AI & Consciousness, and he learned to write with the help of a proper Script Consultant. He's also a Creative Director when you check his actual interests. And yes, his family is, shall we say, interesting? He's a man of rules, that likes to break with the rules. He doesn't like established frameworks. He does like the law and justice being done. He writes to inspire and entertain. He writes because he writes. He doesn't know what else to do. That's milius.' So our imagination is piqued and we must relay on his story for hints at his skills.

We do know from his title (a play on Nine to Five) and the choice of name for his character Gregory Belittled that he has a keen sense of humor and a touch of social comment. But begin reading this fascinating book and the first page starts the seduction: `Carl Hawk sipped on his scotch. Nine in the evening. The actors had gone to their homes, some of them to a bar. Not all of them had the discipline that would see them through to the end. They would put their time at his camp on their resumes, but Hollywood would sort them out soon enough. A CIA training camp for actors. Carl took another sip, and let the scotch spin in his glass. He held it up against the moonlight. It didn't matter whether you did so in Russia, Beirut, or Afghanistan. The moonshine would light up with the moon, wherever you went. Or so his buddy Joe McCenroy at MI6 always said. Joe was gone, murdered in Afghanistan. They never caught the son of a bitch that did it. Everybody knew, they said. No one had a solid lead on the son of a bitch. Henry Doe. If he had been there, out in Afghanistan, things would have been different. He had asked. They were supposed to take care of some oil sheikh, that had gone over to the Russians. The eighties. The Cold War. They loved it, the adventure, the secret missions. They nearly begged to get teamed up together. Henry made a strong point of letting him go. Henry reported Joe, an Afghan wife, and her husband. All dead. He had declared it a shoot-out. Joe had had an affair with the wife. The husband found out, shot his wife. Then Joe and the husband shot each other. The bodies of the wife and the husband were buried without a proper autopsy.
They hadn't saved anything, but the bullet pulled from his buddy's dead body. A hole-in-one they called it in training camp. One bullet, between the eyes.`

A Las Vegas Serial killer who shoots right between the eyes - try explaining the prodromal pathology of what creates a psychopath and you have a key into this wonderfully oddly shaped story. A few slams at the FBI and CIA and enter Gregory Belittled, our 9 to 5 banker and inventor, with a history of severe abuse as a child from his father, uncovers the fact that that abusive father is the serial killer. Gregory is prepared to do everything it takes to end his father's reign of terror in the hopes of locating his mother who has been missing for over twenty five years and stopping the door-to-door killer. The anatomy of a psychopath, the spinning of a yarn that very cleverly switches timeframes in a most creative fashion that allows us entry into the machinations of a dysfunctional family, a peek into the inadequacies of the `serve and protect' crews, and a keenly observant distillation of serial killing mentality. The language matches the story - raw, crude, and forceful. It takes a while to move into milius' writing technique, but once inside it the form follows function. A surprisingly rich debut, a book that takes chances, tries new ideas, and makes them work. Grady Harp, April 15

Engrossing thriller with a caveat for selected readers as explained below.
By John H. Manhold
925, a thriller in e-book format by an author signing only as AEmilius.
The central theme of this story is the concerted efforts of local police along with members of the CIA and FBI as well as the man's son to catch a dangerous serial murderer. The killer is a dismissed former CIA agent who leaves no clues by use of, and adherence to the stringent fundamentals of his thorough training. The combined efforts are aided by still others - a retired CIA agent whose partner was murdered by the killer in Afghanistan, and a highly intelligent and aggressive reporter and her husband. Most effective advances appear to be by activity by the killer's son whom he had severely traumatized both mentally and physically after killing his mother. The son, having absorbed completely all of the training principles so brutally taught, and with his resultant mindset, actually is the only person seemingly fully equipped to attempt to effect the killer's apprehension. The evolutionary steps in the process provide the story.
Discussion: A fascinating, fast-moving and well-crafted plot in which the reader gains a considerable amount of interest in the well-being of the son which in turn, leads to some disappointment perhaps in the method, although a logical selection, he chooses to attempt to bring about a satisfactory result. The overall performance of the other characters is quite credible. For prospective readers with more than the usual amount of knowledge/awareness of the effects of abuse a caveat perhaps is required - a need to be willing to overlook the psychological damage the actions and continuing control exhibited by the psychotic father would evoke in the mentality and subsequent actions of his son. Also how the son could manage to obtain the measure of independence exhibited.
Conclusion: An engrossing thriller with a caveat for readers with more than the usual amount of abuse knowledge/awareness.

925- An Intriguing, Absorbing, Suspenseful, Dark and Exciting Serial Murder Thriller
By Sheryl
925 is about a serial murderer- a former CIA agent Casey Belittled and his psychotic relationship with his son Gregory Belittled who holds a nine to five job and who ultimately helped in uncovering the harsh truth of his monstrous father. Casey through the trick and accessibility of his trade has made his home a mini war chamber. With no visitors allowed in his room and with no windows to reveal the content, Casey's room remains a secret to the outside world. Only his technique of killing by shooting between the eyes links him to previous war murders and gets the CIA and FBI involved.
Gregory suffered a lot of torture by his father in his growing up years but as soon as he turned 18 he stopped listening to his father and end the mental and physical torture. To enjoy a better life and provide luxuries to his wife and little daughter he devises a plan that enabled him to get rich. and when that plan lands him in trouble then he too walks in his father's footsteps by committing a couple of murder.
Carl Hawk is a past CIA agent who obsesses over the death of his best pal Joe McCenroy and wants to catch up the murderer. His obsession costs him his job and even his wife leaves him. However, the technique of the murder finally leads him to Casey Belittled and out of pity he allows Gregory to suffer a minor punishment for his murderous crimes.
The whole book is quite absorbing and eventful. There are a number of gruesome scene to add character to the novel and the language is quite fresh and interesting. There are many characters in the book but since they are introduced at different sections so the readers find it easy to remember them. The story builds on as you progress through the novel and fairness reigns when the guilty is killed and the innocent is saved despite the crime. 925 would be a good buy for every criminology and suspense book lover.
