About the Author
Nick Tumminello is the owner of Performance University International, which provides strength training and conditioning for athletes and educational programs for trainers and coaches all over the world.
As an educator, Tumminello has become known as the trainer of trainers. He has been named 2016 NSCA Personal Trainer of the Year by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He has presented at international fitness conferences in Norway, Iceland, China, and Canada. He has been a featured presenter at conferences held by such organizations as the IDEA Health & Fitness Association, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and DCAC Fitness Conventions, along with teaching staff trainings at fitness clubs throughout the United States. Tumminello holds workshops and mentorship programs in his hometown of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is the author of Building Muscle and Performance: A Program for Size, Strength & Speed (Human Kinetics, 2016) and Strength Training for Fat Loss (Human Kinetics, 2014), has produced more than 20 instructional DVDs, and is the coauthor of the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s Program Design Essentials and Foundations of Fitness Programming. Tumminello is also a continuing education course provider for the American Council on Exercise, the National Academy of Sports Medicine, and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Tumminello has been a fitness professional since 1998 and co-owned a private training center in Baltimore, Maryland, from 2001 to 2011. He has worked with a variety of exercise enthusiasts of all ages and fitness levels, including physique and performance athletes from the amateur to the professional ranks. From 2002 to 2011, Tumminello was the strength and conditioning coach for the Ground Control MMA fight team and is a consultant and expert for clothing and equipment companies such as Sorinex, Dynamax, Hylete, and Reebok.
Tumminello’s articles have appeared in more than 50 major health and fitness magazines, including Men’s Health, Men’s Fitness, Oxygen, Muscle Mag, Fitness Rx, Sweat Rx, Status, Train Hard Fight Easy, Fighters Only, and Fight! Tumminello is also a featured contributor to several popular fitness training websites. He has been featured in two New York Times best-selling exercise books, on the front page of Yahoo and YouTube, and in the ACE Personal Trainer Manual.�In 2015 Tumminello was inducted into the Personal Trainer Hall of Fame.

Nick Tumminello is the Gold standard in the personal training realm and this book shows you why! "Building Muscle and Performance" is a principle based program that solves the answer to "how do I build a great physique while still building athletic ability?" Or as Nick refers to it as the "the hustle and the muscle". As a young personal trainer, Nick Tumminello's products and wisdom have always enhanced my skills and kept me on track as to what is important as a fitness pro in this crazy industry. This book is honestly invaluable to me, I not only have a physical copy, but the kindle as well, I reference it daily. I haven't had the honor of meeting Nick Tumminello (yet) but I consider him a mentor for all that he has done for me with his teachings, and I will forever promote this book as a must have to all fitness enthusiast and trainers alike because, if the saying "19 dollars of cost 20 dollars of value" is true, then my friends, this is priceless.

Delivery was fast. Received the package within three days of ordering. Have not fully read in depth but I can tell the information in this book is invaluable to any one from personal trainers, strength coaches, and everyday gym goers. Nick uses creativity, science, and logic to get people the best results and the formula is all in this book. Order it.

This book really is a comprehensive and easily understood program for everyone

This book really is a comprehensive and easily understood program for everyone. You don't have to be an athletes to do it. I've been lucky enough to train in person with Nick and can tell you this guy knows his stuff! It's easy to see why he's called the "Trainer of Trainers". His approach is backed by exercise science and the mechanics of movement. To me, the best part of Nick's approach is that he not only wants to help you build muscle and power but improve your ability to move. He also recognizes that every body is different and gives enough exercises and choices that even those of us with limitations can benefit. This book truly has every thing you need to challenge your and get you in the best shape of your life, I don't care how old you are, how athletic you are, whether you're male or female or if you're a beginner or advanced exerciser. It is well written, provides great photos and really detailed descriptions of exercises. You won't regret purchasing it and the program will never become obsolete. You will use it as a reference forever.
